A locally owned hospital, for the pets of this neighbourhood
McCurdy Animal Hospital is a locally owned veterinary practice for dogs and cats on McCurdy Road in Kelowna. Most of the animals we see live nearby, in Rutland, Glenmore, Dilworth and across the Central Okanagan.
How we work
Compassionate handling, clear communication
Veterinary visits are stressful for most pets and quite a few owners. We slow things down: quiet handling, breaks when a pet needs one, and a preference for doing less to a frightened animal in one sitting rather than forcing a full examination.
We explain findings in plain language, including the parts that are uncertain. When there is more than one reasonable option, you will hear all of them, along with what each involves and what it costs, before anything is decided.
Our focus is preventive care, medical care and support throughout a pet's life — from a first puppy or kitten visit through to the difficult conversations at the end.

We are a general practice. When a case needs a specialist or an emergency hospital, we say so.
