Dog anxiety and noise fear: practical first steps

What you can do at home, and when it is time to involve a veterinarian.

Anxiety in dogs shows up in many ways: pacing, hiding, destructiveness, clinginess, refusal to eat or reactions to noise. It is common, and it is treatable.

Start with predictability and a safe place your dog can retreat to without being followed. Avoid punishing fear-driven behaviour, which usually makes it worse.

If anxiety is affecting daily life, book a consultation. There are medical conditions that can look like anxiety, and there are treatment options worth discussing.
